Goodman Furnace Draft Inducer Motor Replacement in Roslyn

The problem
A Roslyn homeowner booked an HVAC diagnostic, and it found that the draft inducer motor on their Goodman gas furnace needed to be replaced. The furnace is installed horizontally, lying on its side. On a furnace like this, the burners aren't allowed to light until that motor has established draft. When the furnace calls for heat, the inducer starts first, and it carries combustion gases through the furnace and out the vent while the furnace runs.
Our solution
Once the homeowner approved the repair, we replaced the draft inducer motor assembly, including its wiring, mounting hardware and gasket, and ran combustion safety checks. During our visits we also took carbon monoxide readings at the home's vents, and the meter read 0 PPM. We also installed a red Gas Burner Emergency Off switch so the furnace can be shut down without going to the breaker panel. A heating tune-up was completed as part of the same job.
The result
The new inducer motor is mounted and wired on the furnace's inducer housing. The household now has a clearly labeled emergency shut-off for the gas burner, and the heating tune-up is done.
