    The problem

The homeowner booked a repair online because the ducted central air had stopped cooling completely. According to the booking, the system was more than 12 years old. At the outdoor condenser our technician found the cause: the dual run capacitor had failed, and its terminals were badly rusted and corroded. The unit needed attention in other ways too. Green mildew streaked the cabinet top, the coil was dirty, and leaves and pine needles had built up in the base around the compressor.

    Our solution

We removed the failed capacitor and mounted a new Titan Pro dual run capacitor in the condenser's bracket, wired in. The capacitor service includes electrical testing and system verification once the new part is in. While the unit was open, our technician also lifted off the condenser's top and fan assembly, worked a foaming coil cleaner through the outdoor coil fins, and reassembled the unit.

    The result

The condenser now has a new capacitor to help its compressor and outdoor fan motor start and keep running, and the repair included testing and system verification. The before and after photos show the difference outside: a mildew-streaked cabinet turned clean, with a freshly cleaned coil that can release heat more easily. The homeowner also joined the Home+ Comfort Membership, which includes two tune-ups a year (heating and cooling).
